Reflections on One Year of Blue Ridge Yoga!
We recently celebrated Blue Ridge Yoga’s first birthday on May 20. Our first year was so much more than I ever dreamed and it’s all because of wonderfully caring people of this community! The amount of love and support that has been poured out by Blue Ridge Yogis is incredible. You all are such a huge part of making our community a family – you’ve helped me create a place where people can grow and practice amongst friends. I’m so proud of what the Blue Ridge family accomplished during year one. We’ve grown together in so many ways from the range of classes to our giving to the local community.
Some of our 1st anniversary yoga highlights include:
Accessible Yoga for Every Body!
Making classes available for every age and ability – from chair classes twice a week to power flow and everything in between. In one year, we went from one class a week to over 25 classes a week!!!
We've Created A Welcoming Atmosphere for the Community
Building our student base that includes a diverse range of students who are each a significant part of our Blue Ridge family – we started with 5 students in the beginning and have since had many students come through our doors everyday!
Yogis Raising Funds for Non-Profits!
We raised over $10,000 for local charities – including the Cancer Support Community, Helen Ross McNabb Center, KARM, and the Ronald McDonald House. Our yogis pulled off our first ever fundraiser in October 2015 for the Cancer Support Community, which was a huge success. Giving back is a huge part of our culture at Blue Ridge Yoga and we are thrilled with how much we were able to do in our first year alone!
Advanced Yoga Teacher Training in Knoxville
We are so proud to offer Knoxville's first advanced yoga teacher training 300 hour program, alongside our exceptional 200 hour yoga teacher training. We offer the community a truly unique & notable level of expertise. We are looking forward to our next 200 hour training coming up in November of 2016.
What's Next for Blue Ridge Yoga?
As we begin year two, I am looking forward continuing and building on the foundation we created in year one. We are looking forward to expanding our space, participating in a fundraiser for the African Yoga Project, our 200 hour teacher training, additional series and much more!
As we seek to carry out our mission to manifest kindness to ourselves and others, we look forward to sharing this mission with you and seeing how you manifest kindness throughout our community.
Kindness spreads and with your help, we hope to reach all of Knoxville!
As we begin this blog, please follow along and learn how to manifest kindness to yourself and others as we share ways to develop your practice as well as information about the Blue Ridge Family.
Namaste,
Jess
